What is a VPN?
VPN stands for Virtual Private Network. It's like a private tunnel or a sleeve that you send your network data through, which makes it harder to see what you're doing.
Why would you need that? Lots of reasons for different types of people, ranging from hiding important corporate data from spies to watching Netflix and Hulu in foreign countries.
Since most people will care more about the streaming part, a VPN with a proxy can take your internet connection and make it look like a different connection. A proxy takes the place of something else, so you can tell a proxy to make your internet traffic look like it's coming from another country.
What if you wanted to watch Netflix shows that are UK or US only, but you're in a different country? You can tell the proxy to pretend to be UK, US, Japan, or whatever country you need to pretend to be from.
Some advanced parts of the web can still block proxies, but most sites are designed to block basic access from basic users. The servers managing these policies do the bare minimum required by law, and VPN Master can handle streaming.
What makes VPN Master different?
It's a free proxy with high speeds. When looking for free proxies, you usually have a long list of dead links, overloaded servers, and slow speeds. VPN Master has a pretty big free list.
How? Because there's a paid version with even more features. It's not very expensive to run a good, high speed proxy, but it's not free either. Free proxies have little incentive to tweak for the best performance, premium does.
But what about other free proxies with paid options? VPN Master still pulls ahead. The team cares about performance, and you can actually switch between free and premium.
Toss a few coins their way if you like what they do, and know you don't have to pay monthly unless you want a month or two of top performance. It's flexible!
Pros:
- Free and paid version.
- Lightweight.
- No logging.
Cons:
- Canceling subscription isn't obvious. The text is hard to find.
- Closing ads sometimes closes the app.
- Supported device list is clear. Some devices can download even if they're not compatible. That might be a Google issue.
